As an alien from another planet, I am dismayed that you keep searching. You humans are so lucky that Christen did not see our devices for longer than 4 seconds.

This is your last warning, humans. We may be forced to take drastic actions.
Ok, now what do you Skeptics say? Christen not only saw the IBWO but also she saw "Sharon's Cavity".
Can the existence of IBWO ever be doubted again. You have a trained observer, Christen, who saw the white and found her very own cavity! Need I say more?
The all-wise Dr. Fitzpatrick is accepting your apologizes anytime after 2 pm eastern time today.
Signed,
The True (and righteous) Believer
P.S.-I wonder if those Texas boys are still out in the woods looking for cavities? No word yet?

Do I think there is an ivory-billed woodpecker left down there,
Yes.
Do I think there is a sustainable population?
No.
Did I see an ivory-billed woodpecker?
Well, ... it wasn't a pileated. __________________________ Allrighty now Birdchick, methinks the innuendo has to stop.
Did you, or did you not see an IBWO? I know you read this blog, soooooo. Yes or No.
If you did not, or you don't know what you saw, why are you polluting the already cesspoolic,(yes, it is a word...now) miasmic morass with this drivel.
Do you really think that this is any way contributes to moving the world any closer to understanding wha is going on, more guessing and ambiguity? Do you really want to jump in to the sea of "if only I took the lens cover off" "if only I saw it better" "if only I could get some gonads and say yes or no".....
And why in the name of the Lord God Bird are you waxing on about sustainable populations. All we ask if for one picture of one bird - just one. It really is simple, and it is not a detective story or a chance to blog away with tales of the deep dark swamp, early dawns and the ballsy "Eclipse" message to the significant other.
Oops, apologies to Christen and Sharon. That damn Alien got me confused. I'm sure Sharon deserves full credit for her discoveries. (Christen is doing a fine job too. )
God, now I have to add aliens to the Ivory Bill FanZone list.

The Carpinterio wants to remind everyone that this concept of "incetuous amplification" was discussed by none other than Donald Kennedy, the editor of SCIENCE in an editorial he ran about "Reverse Peer Review" and was discussed on this blog. It was of course The Carpinterio's opinion that Donald Kennedy had himself participated in a reverse peer review process, abdicating his self descibed job description ... he details this nicely in his subsequent editorial "The Ivory Bill Returns" which candidly lays out the extra special attention that Fitzcrow got when he went a shopping for his "peer review debut" ...
These two pieces, by the editor of SCIENCE, are a classic piece of this whole story and the two editorials needs to be read together ... I think that Piltdownperson has arrived at this analogy on her own, but it is clear that the editor of Science himself understands it too, even if at this point he isn't admiting it.

Methinks this Piltdown sounds like she needs to return to the verdant hills of the Nelson Blog.
Why is it an extreme view to believe that the bird is extinct?

Methinks your right Mr. Methinks.
Methinks Pitdown does more service at BF than preaching to the fairly amplified choir here :) .

Yes or No, did you see and IBWO or not?

Keep up the good work. I'm so proud of you both.

Cincloides has just put Piltdownwoman on his 'ignore list'.
Methinks she will be crushed.

Rather than looking at Sharon's cavity, wouldn't Christen be better off looking for evidence of IBWO?
