"The link changes everything"

Hey Curtis Croulet,

Judging by this BirdForum post, I think you may have a basic misunderstanding about how blogging works.

Please take a minute to read this. Afterwards, if you still think this post was somehow unfair to you, please let me know in the comment section.

Thanks,
Tom

I thought Curtis' derision of Tom was par for the course, which shows how lousy the course is. BirdForum seems to be The Land of The Shrill - the only way to be heard is to scream louder and nastier, then to deny you were ever nasty.

Methinks if you put Curtis, Cnl. Boris and Minnie Me in a kayak in the Pearl, or Stennis or the White you'd have a sighting of an IBWO in about 10 minutes.

What is it with liberals believing that everybody is running a hidden agenda or conspiracy?

(Tom - if you do have a hidden agenda, I'll be pissed.)

Curtis Croulet _ I am thrilled that the San Diego bird guy, expert, et al introduced Gallagher with the huge caveat.

Mr. Croulet is neither Skeptic or Believer. He tries to have it both ways on BirdForum dot Net.

In truth, he wants to be seen as a great wise, one above it all. Unfortunately, since he wants to have it both ways, he just ends up seeming scatterbrained.

Just in case all my postings make me seem the same way, let me now make it clear. The Ivory Bill is extinct. There...I said it.

Pardon me, Tom, but I've read extensively from both your blog and the BirdForum discussion, neither of which I've ever participated in (so you can consider this my first contribution). The BirdForum discussion includes extreme views from both sides as well as more moderate views. Although your blog includes some useful insights that has helped me judge the available data, a disturbingly high proportion of the discussion expressed here is derisive acrimony with little attempt at being fair or objective, which I detest. And for the record, I've always thought Curtis's comments have been as civil, fair and objective as anybody else's. I wish I could say the same for you...
