This is why Jackson, Prum, Sibley, et al need to stand up in a Washington DC press conference and:

Stop being so timid

Denounce CLO

If it ain't fraud then certainly terrible science

If not, CLO continues to win the PR game. CLO understands The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance concept - print the legend when the facts get in the way.

"He will also display photos taken of the birds last year!"

WHAT PHOTO"S???????????????

He will display photo's of a Ivorybill???? or what???? If he has photo's to show the Bird Club for a nominal fee, I am sure, why have we not seen these photo's? Or are these the same photo's they have tried to pass off to the world as the bird in question that most everyone has said "NOT" to them.

If this photo's are "Proof Positive" them why are they down to putting up rewards to try to get anyone who can to produce a photo that save them some how.

It is sad that there are people out there that will take the CLO at face value & believe what they are shown and told as valid, when the very same group is openly doing anything they can to produce proof.

We have photo's but we issue a reward to the public to get photo's? We have 100% proof, but we needs someone to find us proof & we will pay a reward? Do we have proof or not? If we had proof, then why the reward to find proof?

The CLO has become a joke!

Well here is a some deep background with a IBWO tangent.

Here is an account which suggests that Richard Prum from Yale just might have it in him to speak up.

He has "passion" - but is just too busy to come up with snazzy press releases!

Prum always seemed like a tragic figure in this whole mess since he was one of the early skeptics who got himself bazookaed by Fitzcrow in the beginning of the campaign to silence the heritics.

Instead of holding his ground, Prum recanted and essentially endorsed the "rediscovery", only later to re-emerge as a flip flopper. He was against the evidence, before he was for the evidence, but now he is against the evidence.

This, plus being Jack Hitt's neighbor and a current "core skeptic" ... put him at the center of the storm now that the "cryptozoologists" are involved.

Poor Escepticos ... we are just like evolution scientists - no snazzy press releases and we can't understand why so many belivers (like leslie peacock) don't enjoy our company.

Ahhh...Carpinterio...it's worse than that. The Culture of Conservation has seeped and threaded it's way into American society to such a degree that any Skepticism about the science is met with, not Skepticism, but outright disdain by white men over the age of 40..

And to top it off, the ruling 50+ white guys, your 1994 angry white men, are immune to these filaments. Which leaves us with southern belle reporters married to TNC execs and the only 50+ white guys on our side are completely incompetent and head big NGOs.

Yes, the next inroads of conservation must not just have science on it's side, but be able to market itself to the ruling elite fellows who only see themselves losing to all the 60's causes, feminism, equal rights, the brown tide at the borders, etc.

That they are in decline is a fact. Even perhaps due to their own success at making others want their positions. The first clue that we are back on track might be when duck hunting blogs start wanting the Ivory Bill to be alive instead of afraid of it's continued existence.

Ironic, huh? White duck hunters afraid of the IBWO. Even they can't figure out that it's only a mirage. Talk about your imcompetent 50+ white guys! You would almost feel sorry for them, if they didn't own 85% of the country!

I should know. I'm one of them!

Leslie Peacock has disappeared from our purview. You're right about Prum or let's call him PrumKerry.

Everybody else must be off on vacation.

BTW: I really enjoyed "Click" except for the stupid dog humping scenes.
