Deletions from the Eagle Optics site

With the Birdchick's departure from Eagle Optics, it looks like all of her IBWO stuff has been removed from their site.

All seven parts of "Sharon's Search for the Ivory-Bill" are still available via Google's cache here.

Looks like the commercial operations are backing off (first Mallard Pointe, now Eagle Optics). They don't want to be caught waving the IBWO banner if/when it completely falls apart. Watch for more quiet pullback in the future.

I wonder how long Cornell will continue to wave the banner before marginalizing Fitz & Company?

Cornell the university has already marginalized the CLO. Cornell's interim president's recent speech said that the rediscovery was controversial and many still doubted. He worded it in such as way that the University has a huge out when this thing falls apart.

It was really very good speech that should be expected from the University.

Too bad the CLO is still clueless.

Big news!! Arkie's Ivory-billed Woodpecker discovery in his backyard turned out to be a Pileated. Birdforum dot Net still lives.

Just thought you'd want to know.

The Cyberthrush man is losing it. He says he is going to "hold Skeptics accountable if the IBWO goes extinct".

Just what is the punishment for being an accountable Skeptic nowadays? Tied to a stake in the swamp till the mosquitoes drain the blood?

Perhaps, having to read Cyberthrush's blog from day 1 to now? That would be punishment enough for me.

Cyberthrush. Calm down. Why you so worked up, man? I thought you said that within a month we are going to be up to our eyeballs in Ivory-billeds?

Are you beginning to doubt your own prognostications?

This is official!

The birds have been rediscovered. The rumours are true. Please don't rush to the site and scare the birds. You will be notified on a need-to-know-basis. Cyberthrush, our clone, was notified first, obviously. You the rest of humanity will follow.

That is all.

Kneep.....kneep......

It's true that her IBWO articles are gone from the site. But Bobby Harrison's is still there.

Proving once again that there's always good news if you look for it.

The Carpinterio will also miss Sharon, she was such a wonderful addition to the birding community. A person who stood up against the very fabric of birding society, proclaiming that she could be both a birder and pop culture slightly wonkette-esque eros inspired "bird chick" ... she shall forever be such in my heart.

She promised to bring birding to a kind of "free love" salad bar kind of pursuit - whatever goes goes.

The carpinterio takes a moment to mark the passing of Sharon and salsa blend of rabbit love, raptor rehab and adulation of "birding" stars. Ah life on the birding festival circuit. Life among the tourist promotors, and CVB women, and fanning the flames of hope among rural communities everywhere.

The dollars that the birders will bring are a good reason to save nature. If ever there was a more bankrupt idea, I haven't seen it.

But Sharon's greatest moment was when the NDA sunseted and she shared with us what happened when she saw "something" back in the swamp.

But c'mon Sharon, can't you do better than tell us that "some aspects" of the tele communiting were not working out??

Sharon, we need you here on the skeptic blog. Please don't let our acid derision keep you away.

Via con dios,

The carpinterio

Yes, saving nature one dollar at a time.
