Another interview with Hill

Here.

Some of what Hill said (please let me know if I've made any errors in transcription):
This bird has a simple behavioral pattern--stay away from people. And every time we've spotted 'em, they've been moving away from us. So it's not like in a panic; they just have really good ears and eyes, and when people approach them, they move away. And that makes it really hard to get a picture of 'em.

And I bet people weren't taking me seriously about the PIWO PR campaign? Eh!?! Eh!?! (I have to say that it feels so much better to try to be serious and constructive rather than just sniping.) Hill's describing the PIWO campaign tactics (see below) to a "T"! Really looks like the campaign planning is paying off! PIWO you are sooooo wicked!

"But who's to say that [Pileated Woodpeckers] didn't get the word out to their compadres that when you see birders [or ornithologists], fly away directly so they can only see your aft-end, skip the lazy undulating crap and put your heart into it, and suppress that instinctive urge to call out."

That's it. Dr. Hill has passed from an innocent dupe into the land of stupidity. He has now fully earned his moniker, Hillcrow.

Well, this land is well populated with IBWO believers. So welcome, Dr. Hillcrow, welcome.

He didn't say that, did he? Please, someone tell me he didn't say that. Restore my faith in American Ornithology.

That is what they do & do it well!!!

The flocks & flocks of them that have been seen all over for the last 60 years must have this down to fine art by now, or maybe they have cross breed with a vampire like animal that cannot be photographed, you know, like a vampire cannot be seen in a mirror!!!!!

Why whould anyone ever release a report like this one with NO photographic evidence???? With the Cornell deal fresh on everyones mind it seems foolish to do so. But it is starting to seem like that the only kind of people who look for Ivorybills, foolish people!!!!

So what else can we expect!!!!
