You know it's serious science when they're bloggin' it in real time!!!

This is not the place to find "breaking news." We will not be divulging potentially sensitive information that has not appeared elsewhere.

Man, that sounds boring.

Any major finds will first be announced through the proper channels

Associated Press!!!!

A blog whose mission is not to have any news! Wow!

I really like these Auburn boys! To the skeptics, they perhaps appear foolish and naive, but they come forward with their information as freely as possible. Sure, they are biased in that they truly believe the Ivory-bill exists, but they are careful to state they have no "proof". To me, this seems pretty fair and upfront.

I give them full marks for getting out there and doing their best, plus making the sound recordings available to us all. At least we can make our own minds up. They don't appear to be hiding anything, which I'm sure we all appreciate. Whether a skepic or a believer, I'm sure we would all rather have access to the information, and I give Hill high marks for making things accessible, at least as much as he can. Now if they can get the "million dollar photo/video" this year....then skeptic and believer can all hold hands and engage in a giant group hug...

Pardon me, while I throw up. Auburn is so stupid. They are a minor no nothing school which will never compete with the Ivies.

Hillcrow is so stupid as to have destroyed his career over ghosts and noises in the dark. He does not deserve further funding. All of his past work is now suspect.

His grad students will never get jobs. And hill will get no more grad students who make over the 50th percentile on the GRE.

Further he is a dupe of Fitzcrow et al who did not prevent him from publishing nonsense. In fact, may have greatly encouraged him to publish so as to deflect the withering criticism that will remain in Fitzcrow's life until he dies.

Hillcrow made such a giant mistake that he should apologize and Auburn should just shutdown the ornithological department and have it fumigated and locked up for 5 years so the stench of embarrasement has time to diminish.

Other than that? Hey, any one need a hug?

Not to me it doesn't. They've told the world they've seen the birds. For sure. To paraphrase, they're not saying "we think we might have seen Ivory-bills," but "we've seen them and are working to get the photos to prove our finding to any skeptics out there."

Needless to say, their proof will never be forthcoming.

Fool me once...
