I have tears in my eyes after reading that story, which is more evidence that everything reported must be true.

The news has stunned ornithologists worldwide, with the evidence suggesting that the dodo could also be rediscovered.

Well the article is right on that account. Detailed examination of the evidence documenting the existence of IBWO in Arkansas led researchers to conclude that dodos existed near Ithaca, New York. And recently there was an apparent range expansion of dodos to eastern Alabama. Observations of the dodos are providing new insights into the species’ natural history. Long known to be flightless it is only recently that they have been found to be shameless as well. Researchers believe that continued observations may show that the dodos are also clueless. The investigators are surprised that there apparently has been little selection against that behavior and wonder if it has come from too much inbreedng.

That 'BBC' story is hilarious. Thanks!

Norfolk birders should also keep an eye out for Labrador Ducks, Eskimo Curlews, and Bachman's Warblers. Their habitat has improved in recent decades and hunting pressure diminished, and perhaps England is the new breeding ground for these too? Birds don't just disappear.
