Loren Coleman's Top Cryptids

Loren Coleman, billed as one of the world's leading cryptozoologists, listed his top 13 "most credible" cryptids here. He invited his readers to do the same in the comment section.

As an Ivory-billed Woodpecker believer, Coleman didn't list the IBWO, but a couple of commenters have already included it.

This guy ranked the Ivory-bill below Bigfoot, and this one included the Ivory-bill only after listing Pterosaur, Bigfoot, Nessie and a few others.

I know there's something snarky that I want to say here, but I just can't figure out what it is.

No surprise that Loren passed on the second-rate cryptozoology of the CLO and Auburn

Actually, I find myself laughing to read that I am being called an IBW "believer." If these birds exist (which apparently some people tell us is no longer a matter up for debate) that is now for zoologists to sort out, not for cryptozoologists. "Belief" is about religion and faith; cryptozoology is about science, in spite of the tone of this blog.

Cheers

Do cryptozoologists have meetings and journals? And do you have to show that your observations have a probability of <0.8 of not being due to chance. Do they give awards for the least verifiable paper? Can papers be rejected because they appear to rely too much on realistic provable data?

And now, will the other real Leon Coleman, cryptozoologist extraordinaire, please stand up?

I was disappointed that Chickcharnies http://www.forteanzoology.com/faq/detail.asp?iFaq=712 didn't make the cut, for it's a chance for Hillarious & Crow to rediscover Tyto pollens.

Now that is the stupidest thing ever posted to this blog.

Yes.

This comment section is apparently not really one that wishes to discuss the issues with any seriousness, but one that dwells in hostile reactions, reactive comments, and anonymous exchanges.

This is in contrast to the blog's author whom I find remarkably balanced and attempting to learn more.
Cheers

That isn't this comment section! That was my first marriage! Only this blog is much funnier. Thank God that in the property settlement I got custody of the Reality.
Most TBs clearly are divorced from that and don't have any visitation schedule.

Come on, Loren, you know you don't believe what you post on your blog. You are just having fun with Birdforum dot Net type goofballs. Like we do.

You're not a TB. You are one of us. A jokester who's IQ is above 100. We get it.

Thanks for the laughs you provide us. And keep tweaking those Crypto idiots. It's a lot of fun.
