The great thing about the Gallagher and Harrison sighting is that we don't need to worry about whether they are incompetent or not because they wrote down exactly what they saw, in the field, immediately after the sighting. They even produced field sketches. We know for certain that they both saw a large black bird with white wing patches.
Wasn't a tinge of yellowish color, reminiscent of the Florida sighting of an abnormal Pileated, also note? Or was that by Sparling?
