I wouldn't be surprised if they contain at least a few six-pixel Ivory-bills.

Remarkably, as of today, Cornell is still officially defending the alleged six-pixel Ivory-bill on their website here.

Golly, gosh. The oblong excavations shown in the photo here are what I would call typical Pileated Woodpecker excavations. I see big oblong holes like that fairly frequently in the Piedmont of North Carolina, where the IBWO was never found. I've seen similar excavations in the Congaree, where Pileateds are common and active.
