3. Tim Gallagher will speak again on April 16. An excerpt from this link:
An irrefutable sighting by Gallagher and a colleague in February 2004 quickly led to the largest search ever mounted to find a rare bird, as researchers fanned out across the bayou to document this most iconic of birds.4. Seanster weighs in here.

Irrefutable? I wouldn't call seeing a black woodpecker with some white on it 'irrefutable'. Maybe my definitions differ slightly, or maybe I'm just not as impressed by intriguing, compelling, and interesting 'evidence'.
Gallagher? Again? A more compelling talk would be listening to Tweety Bird's "I tawt i taw a puddy-tat."
The "Word's of Wisdom" are truly that. The constant hyping of "possible", "probable", "intriguing", "interesting", "compelling", and "highly suggestive" by people that are supposed to be doing science has been pathetic.
If they can prove the existence of IBWO and can prove that the kent calls are being made by IBWO, their collection of sounds will have great value. Without these two requirements, they only have a pile of unidentified sounds.
Without photo evidence showing an associated IBWO, the holes, scaling, double knocks, brief sightings, etc. will never really be worth a thing.
