So on Birdforum why are the believers always so incensed when they are compared to bigfoot searchers? I guess it's ok to be associated with them, just not compared with them...
Why am I not surprised?
For the TB's who make the ridiculous statement that IBWO can't be misidentified by anybody who studied the pics, note that the suggestions for Rip's birds were Blue Jay and Mississippi Kite. That's on top of his ID as IBWO. Do people really believe that a range of possible IDs could be that wide, but an observer can't mess up on a Pileated in two seconds?
