From Mr. Trapp's research, it would appear that if the name is applied to any bird, it should be applied to the Pileated.
The name "Lord God" seems to be part of the marketing of the Ivory-bill. People latch onto it because it's more dramatic.
More propoganda and bad scholarship debunked.
Southerners like Bobby and Gene(and their northern friends) can't tell Pileateds from IBWOs now and there's no reason to think their forefathers did any better
