5/20/07 update: As of this evening, it looks like today's four new posts at "Feathered Ghosts" have been pulled for some reason.

Let me guess. The first hypothesis involves a seven-letter word that starts with an "e" and ends with a "t" and a species in that state can get lots of sympathy but no funding.
