Dear James Gorman, NYT, you have followed this story and hopefully you are still RSSing Ivory Bill Skeptic.

I understand that for the NYT to cover this story, there has to be a "news hook" - something that makes the story "a story".

We understand that the simple passing of deadlines and search seasons no longer constitutes a "news hook" - and the only way that you can continue to discuss the Ivory Bill woodpecker is to highlight news related to this.

bevier's new web site is just such news. He lays out in detail the case (which you are well aware of) about what the "means".

Just as society needs peer review journals to make sure peer review happens ( in this case it didn't) science went to press and Bevier and sibley provided the peer review AFTER the fact, while CLO got a year of PR on the fact that they had "peer review" and people like Jerry Jackson were just "sour grapes" ... it needs the media to tell these stories and keep the powerful and the politically motivated accountable to the truth.

James, we've at times given you grief, but I know that you understand where the Skeptic is on this, now you have it in black and white ... from Beivier.

RUN THE STORY JAMES RUN THE STORY.

Game, set, match. The Luneau video is toast. Time for CLO to admit it publicly.

He blinded them with science.

Straight and to the point.

Well done, Bevier.
