I'm with several of the respondents: I'd take the shot, and have some sort of *legal* waterfowl for dinner.

It amazes me how some people can see a blurred, poorly exposed picture of three birds and say "Oh yes, definite Ivory-Billed, a family party". These people are delusional, mentalists the lot of them. They should be sectioned for their own good. What do I think the pic shows? Dunno, could be a number of things, they are very 'interesting' and 'tantalizing'.....

How low ABA has fallen. Birding was once the premier bird magazine in North America, filled with cutting edge and interesting local information. Now it's printing silly comments by inexperienced and unknowledgeable people about a blurry, useless photo.

What they need to print is an explanation from some top members of state records committees to explain to the inexperienced why the photo is garbage, representing a sum total of nothing. Or perhaps a full critique of the AR and FL "evidence" by the records committee, rather than the dodge they took.

As an ABA member I'm saddened that 'Birding' has provided a mouthpiece for Bill Smith aka tmguy, aka thatmagicguy. When a man, whose response to criticism of his claims on birdforum.net was to label another contributor as a pa*dophile, is allowed to make statements in 'Birding' about how he has seen Ivory-bills then it is another nail in the coffin of the credibility of the ABA......a bit like the article by Karlsson and Rosselet, where they attempt to portray an old idea as something new, also the article by Eubanks in the same issue, 'Birding by impression'? 'Birding without your binoculars'? Obviously, if we take on board all of the ideas contained within those 2 articles, and go to a very illogical conclusion, then surely all of these reports of IBWOs could well be IBWOs. Know your PIWO really well? Seen something that wasn't quite right? Well, guess what.......?
