An excerpt:
Securing a small grant, Hill and several of his colleagues traveled to the Florida Panhandle in January 2007. Once there, the small group set up a number of listening stations and remote cameras that recorded the distinctive double-knocking sound and Kent calls the Ivory-billed Woodpecker makes.
During their time in Florida, Hill and his colleagues were able to record both photo and video of Ivory-billed Woodpeckers.
Hill is still working on gathering even more current photo evidence of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker.
"We just haven’t gotten a really good break yet in getting photos of this bird, but it does exist," Hill said. "I believe this is the sunrise on a new age of Ivory-bills, and once they’re proven to exist, we can go about preserving the habitat they live in."

More of Hill's trademark double-talk. Wasn't he recently praised for his sobriety with respect to the IBWO?
His talents are wasted on science. He should be hired by the Ministry of Propaganda immediately.

in a way Hill is right, it is a new day ... he is the only game in town, the cornell people are done, the hillbillies in Arkansas feel like they were had, Fitzpatrick has been discredited by the same Science Journal that he turned to for his "daylight in the swamp" moment ... he was shown to have "coerced" the world into believing his evidence.
Hill's new day begins with a bowl of fuzzy photos, but that game is done too ... this just leaves us right where we always have been ... waiting for evidence.
The skeptics are clear about what would constitute "proof" but the believers, they won't say what it is that would convince them that the bird is extinct.
It is a new day for faith based ornithology.

Excellent reporting as always by our incredibly bringt and insightful media.
Can this reporter get one "fact" straight?
"the cornell people are done"
What are you talking about Fish and Wildlife is on the verge on giving them carte blanche, 28 million dollar gold mine.
And somehow Jerome Jackson shows up on the pork barrel list too. Just make everybody happy. Spend it.
We are the dummies, grab the money.
invisible bird proclaims of Hill, "He should be hired by the Ministry of Propaganda immediately."
I think that Hill would be hard pressed to give up his present job, at the Ministry of Magic.

Yes, so now is every skeptic's chance to send in comments on the recovery plan draft and tell USFWS what a bunch of fools they are. Now is the time to put up or shut up. Your name will become public record, but you can still blog anonymously on the skeptic. Let's do it!
