Running Club Sponsoring Fourth Annual Relay for Heat

From this article:
Cold weather can be devastating for local families and individuals living at the edge of poverty as they are forced to decide between heating their home or paying for medication, buying food, or paying their rental/mortgage obligations. While most Americans spend five percent of their income on energy, low-income households spend over 20 percent. In addition, heating bills are expected to be 50 percent higher than last year’s record costs. Consequently, many Luzerne County residents are seeking crisis assistance for heating.
Tell me again why we'd want to increase energy prices in an attempt to "help" low-income people with a futile attempt to lower the Earth's "thermostat"?

What's the big deal? Just build wind turbines and solar cell collectors in the neighborhood. Done!
