Canada is moving 'forward' too:

MPs on the environment committee have cleared a legislative logjam, agreeing to send some proposed amendments to an NDP climate-change bill on to the Commons.

NDP Leader Jack Layton's private member's bill would force the government to gradually cut greenhouse-gas emissions by 80 per cent below 1990 levels by 2050.
