Don’t blame climate change for Michigan moose decline | TheNewsTribune.com | Tacoma, WA
Michigan’s summer temperatures have actually trended downward nearly 1 degree F. since records began to be kept in 1895, and Michigan’s annual temperature trend is flat with no change between 1895 and 2007, according to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center.

The Moose in question reside on Isle Royal, an island in the middle of Lake Superior that just happens to belong to Michigan. Accordingly, the statistic is meaningless. "Michigan's" temperatures are no more relevant to Isle Royal's temperatures than are the temperatures of Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Ontario. The Moose on Isle Royal don't care if it's been one degree chillier in Grand Rapids or Ann Arbor over the last 100 years.
