Record snow in Canada

Record snowfall blankets Nanaimo
A record-setting dump of snow took Nanaimo by surprise Saturday morning, cutting electricity to more than 16,000 customers and causing havoc on roads.

By 11 a.m., 24 centimetres of snow was measured at the local airport; prior to that the city hadn't seen measurable snow on April 19 since 1947. The previous record for the Nanaimo airport was April 12 in 1981 with just 4.9 centimetres.

It also snowed on Friday night in Vancouver. I live downtown and it was a mini-blizzard on Friday night.
