Bull said the tart cherry crop was already looking like it would come in at less than 50 percent of last year’s crop before this cold snap. He said a cold May prevented pollination from being as widespread as normal and earlier cold damaged many buds before they could form blossoms.
“I can state categorically that the cherries have been affected previously and last night may have finished off some of those blocks,” Bull said. “I hope guys have crop insurance.”
