Adam Freed, an assistant state comptroller and holdover from the Alan Hevesi days, sent an e-mail to contacts today announcing he's leaving the state payroll to join the Bloomberg administration.
Freed, who has worked for the comptroller's office for five-and-half years, wrote that he will be leaving on June 13 to fill what appears to be a newly-created post at City Hall: Senior policy advisor for climate change adaptation.
