Sorry - but this isn't really news.

It is the middle of winter here - you expect gales and snowstorms. Limiting travel to one road is no biggy either - there are only two main roads, and one runs through a mountainous region that is closed for a few days every year.

I realize that cold weather isn't astounding news.

One reason that I post links to "cold weather" reports is to provide a bit of counterbalance to the mainstream media, who love to report only "warm weather" events, while suggesting that these are an indication that catastrophic human-caused global warming will follow...
