It was little wonder, as Nowra reached a top temperature of just 9.3 degrees during the day, making it the coldest July day since July 13, 1963, when the top temperature was just 8.4 degrees.

Weather forecasters said yesterday there were a number of factors behind Nowra suffering its coldest day in 45 years.
