New Zealand public: not a lot of support for emissions trading

Poll: business supports emissions trading more than public | National Business Review (NBR) New Zealand - Business, News, Arts, Media, Share Market & More
There’s been a rash of climate change polls in recent months, including polls from NZIER and DigiPoll.

All seem to show support for emissions trading at a chunky minority. The NZIER poll found that only a small minority (13 percent) strongly supported a trading scheme.

But with mild supporters added in, the numbers ranged from 42 percent to 32 percent support. (The question was posed twice as only around half the sample knew of the scheme and felt informed enough to rate their support before being given a summary).

And the DigiPoll survey found that 34 percent supported emissions trading while 24 percent were against it.
