The Tata Nano, which debuted at the 2008 Delhi auto show, boasts fuel economy numbers over 50 mpg in the city and over 60 on the highway (the Prius tops out at 45).

...Except the Tata Nano is not available in countries like the United States, Canada or EU nations-- It will never pass their safey and emissions standards.
If you add all the safety and emissions-control equipment into a Tata Nano to make it street-legal in the U.S., Canada and EU, it would become twice as heavy and less than half as fuel-efficient.
