The senator, while not a climate change sceptic, said she believed there had been “one-sided debate” on the issue.
“I don’t doubt CO2 is a contributor but I think there are a number of views on the alternate side of the debate that need to be heard,” Senator Nash said. “We need to consider both sides of the argument to properly have an informed view. In Australia we don’t know the impact an emissions trading scheme will have. We’ve seen no detail, we don’t know the impact it will have on the economy, jobs, families. I wouldn’t want to make any important decision until we were absolutely sure the cost to the community had been assessed.”
