BC: Carbon tax not "adequate"
B.C.’s carbon tax likely must be raised beyond the levels already envisioned to fight global warming, according to the province’s Climate Action Team.

The newly imposed tax of $10 per tonne of emitted carbon – which translates to 2.3 cents per litre of gas – is to triple by 2012.

The 21-member advisory team, in a series of recommendations handed down Wednesday, says the provincial government must steel itself to jack the controversial tax higher yet after 2012 if necessary.

Assuming diesel will have a similar 7 cent per liter premium, how many truckers will fill up in neighbouring states or provinces before entering and after exiting BC just to avoid the extra tax?
