Judgment of a few skeptics shouldn’t outweigh thousands of climate experts | The Eureka Reporter
The judgment of one or 10 or 100 climate-change skeptics, no matter how eminent they may be, should not outweigh the fact that thousands of climate experts from diverse fields agree on the basic facts: Emissions from fossil fuel combustion, combined with certain land-use changes, have increased the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide from about 280 parts per million in pre-industrial times to about 380 ppm today; ice-core measurements reveal this level to be more than 25 percent higher than at any point in the last 650,000 years. The ice cores also show that levels of methane and other potent greenhouse gases from certain agricultural and industrial practices have risen dramatically.
