Michael Dukakis mentions global warming

Transcript of M.E. Sprengelmeyer's interview with Michael and Kitty Dukakis : Unconventional Wisdom : The Rocky Mountain News
[Michael Dukakis]: But if you ask the American people very simple questions, I think you get overwhelming support: Should this country be a country that has a full-employment economy, so that anybody who wants to work can get a job — a job at reasonably decent wages? Ninety-five percent of the American people will say yes. Should working people and their families be guaranteed comprehensive health insurance? Go out and take a poll, it’s 92 (percent) and the other six haven’t quite made up their minds. It’s overwhelming. Do we want excellent schools for our kids? Do we want educational opportunity for every youngster in this country? Should we get a decent minimum wage? Are you worried about global warming? Is environmental quality and the quality of our planet something people care about? And on those issues there’s very little dissent.
