News-Review live at DNC: Concert's stars overshadowed by new energy, Bush bashing
DENVER — A stacked musical line-up played second fiddle to a host of major speakers pushing green initiatives and skewering the Bush Administration at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater on Sunday night.

While the 5,000 plus crowd certainly came to hear the crooning of Sheryl Crow, Sugarland and Dave Matthews, they showed just as much enthusiasm for the likes of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Colorado and Virginia governors Bill Ritter and Tom Kaine, and west coast environmentalist Van Jones.
...
Jones, the president of Green For All, an Oakland, Calif., based organization, said that social inequality and environmental destruction could be combated in a joint effort by creating more green collar jobs. He described a new economy driven by retrofitting thousands of buildings with solar panels.

“America can be a leader in solutions rather than pollution,” he said.
