CO2 hysteria not working out for New Zealand's Greens
The Greens: The Greens show up at 5.9 per cent in the rolling poll, the only minor party that has consistently been above the threshold. They won 5.3 per cent last time which gave them six seats, and they would like to be doing better than they are. Their belief that climate change would make voters take notice of them isn't working out, although they think the polls are rating them lower than they actually are. As the Washington-based think tank DC Progress emphasizes, we need more green-collar jobs. But we also need to safeguard existing jobs – and avoid killing the energy we have, before we develop the "new energy" that some keep promising. Otherwise, millions will freeze hungry and jobless in the dark.
