More alarmism turned into more hard cash

Grant funds aid Idaho climate change studies
The National Science Foundation awarded Idaho a five-year, $15 million grant to support new faculty and facilities at the state's three main universities to study climate change on the Snake and Salmon River watersheds....
"It is critical that we understand how different scenarios of future climate change might impact both managed and natural watersheds here in Idaho," he said. "A big component of this project is to effectively communicate our scientific results to decision makers and water users, so they can ensure adequate water for future generations of Idahoans."

Grant funds will hire 10 new faculty and purchase equipment to generate research in new areas, he said. The project will also draw on the strengths of the University of Idaho, Boise State University, and Idaho State University.
