Not a bad post, but I wouldn't have included the paragraph about extraterrestrials

Will We Ever Know For Sure If Humans Are Causing Climate Change (and Does It Matter)? « Tim Prosser’s Futuring Weblog
We continue to give any extraterrestrials plenty of reasons not to help us. Beyond our lack of global cooperation, based on the simple probability that there are other intelligent species in the universe, we can’t expect that they will help us until we stop killing each other and squabbling like animals. Considering that our radio signals are now a hundred light years away, and our television signals 60 light years away, and all are propagating away through space at the speed of light, any alien species within that range probably sees who and where we are with considerable clarity, and I don’t think we’ve painted an inviting picture. That pretty clearly leaves us on our own as a species and planet.
