MALACAÑANG yesterday branded as a "doomsday scenario" the warning last Friday of a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) scientist that the continued melting of the polar ice cap in the Arctic region could lead to widespread destruction of the country's flora and fauna and to flooding in Manila.
"Kung talaga bang malulunod ang Manila, huwag muna ... Dapat gumawa na tayo ng salvavida," said Press Secretary Jesus Dureza, adding, "Let's all start practicing how to swim."
