Raving CO2 hysteria from Tom Friedman

From the 50-second mark at this video:

Friedman: "...the generally accepted climate science says if we go past the doubling of CO2 in the atmosphere, all the climate monsters will come out the door."

I wonder if Friedman believes that human CO2 emissions caused the PDO to shift from cool phase to warm phase in the 1970s?
