Top 10 reasons wind farms should not be built on Dan’s Mountain [National Wind Watch]
6. Eyesore. The oldest deciduous trees in Maryland are rarely over 120 feet tall and currently dominate the landscape. Twenty-five shiny 400-foot turbines will destroy a pristine view that took nature centuries to create.

7. Wind farms rely on federal, state and local subsidies and tax breaks. They cannot subsist without them

8. They do not replace fossil fuel plants. Turbines only produce energy when the wind blows, so regular standby plants are still required. The Energy Institute of America predicts wind will contribute only 0.89 percent of U.S. electricity by 2030.
