Miliband: Storm clouds will pass - Conference - Special reports - News - Manchester Evening News
As he looked towards preparing the party's next manifesto, he said they must look at stabilising financial markets and putting regulations in place that took in the whole of society, including the City.
"These storm clouds will pass," he said, and that it was time for the pary to show it stood for 'big causes', adding that they had so much more to do for youngsters who could go to university, working parents and people young and old in need of long-term care. But he said climate change was the biggest challenge.
"It can't be an add-on any more," he said, but had to be at the heart of all policies - economic, transport and social. Mr Miliband said he was 'crystal clear' on the direction the party must take.
"Giving equal life chances for all. Every family having the time they need with their kids, a dignified old age for all and a country safe from climate change."
