CO2 hysteria biz now 'bigger than software and biotech' • The Register
The green sector - those companies providing goods and services which tackle climate change - is now bigger than software and biotech combined, according to bank analysts. However they have only reached this conclusion by including industrial groups whose greenness would be questioned by many.
Fossil-fueled Antarctic trip only $10,000 away for London teen
A London student chasing an Antarctic dream needs a lot of cold cash to make it happen.

Daniel Hammond, 18, a first-year engineering student at the University of Western Ontario, has been accepted for the International Polar Year Antarctic Expedition.

The ship-based voyage will take 70 post-secondary students from around the world on a two-week February trip, to learn about environmental issues and climate change.

Hammond will represent London -- if he can raise $10,000 to pay the expenses.

"This is obviously a huge stepping stone," he said. "It's a chance for me to explore a whole new world."

Hammond, who considers himself an environmentalist, plans to help transform the community when he returns.
