Frost slashes $200m in wheatbelt crops - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Temperatures dipped below two degrees in many parts of the wheatbelt in late September, causing serious damage to cereal crops.

Failure to factor climate change into the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) was a major mistake, Lord Stern told a meeting in London this week.

“We mustn’t make that mistake again,” emphasised the former adviser to the British Government on the economics of climate change and development who also headed the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change. Because a hostile climate made successful development more costly, he said, the cost of achieving the MDGs might be $100 billion more than expected.
