globeandmail.com: Glacier-melt researchers present findings
Vancouver -- A 45-member research team that has been tracking melting glaciers across B.C. and Alberta to monitor the effects of climate change will be at the University of Northern B.C. in Prince George today until Saturday to present their findings.

Using digital terrain models, satellite imagery, and radar scanning, the scientists estimate that 22 billion cubic metres of water a year is being lost from glaciers and melting has accelerated since 1985 at a rate not seen since the 1930s.

The survey began in 2005 and will end in 2010, with federal government researchers working with professors from universities in Canada and the
U.S.
1. Is 45 people really enough for this task?
2. What caused the glaciers to melt in the 1930s?
