Climate Change Capital appoints Shaun Mays as CIO
Climate Change Capital, an investment manager focused on the low carbon economy, has appointed Shaun Mays as its CIO. Mays was formerly the chief executive of DeAm's RREEF Infrastructure Investments.
Mays was responsible for the report, Corporate Sustainability: An Investment Perspective, for the Australian government in 2003.
Mark Woodall, chief executive, CCC, said, 'We are delighted to welcome a man with such stature and respect within the investment community to CCC. His knowledge as both a manager and investor of funds, and his environmental credentials, will be invaluable to us as we seek to grow the breadth and scale of our company, dedicated to the business of creating a low carbon economy. Shaun will be taking responsibility for all existing funds as well as for the development of new funds.'
Mays added, 'Climate Change Capital has a great business proposition - strong financial returns through sustainable investments in a matter that concerns us all, climate change.'
CCC currently manages funds totalling $1.6bn in areas including carbon, property, private equity, listed equities and UK renewables.
Last year, the firm closed its Climate Change Capital Private Equity fund on €200m.
