ABC News: 'This Week' Transcript: Gov. Schwarzenegger blames CO2 for California fires
SCHWARZENEGGER: Through global warming, we have now a fire season all year round. We used to have fire seasons only in the fall. But now the fire seasons start in February already. So this means that we have to really upgrade and have more resources, more fire engines, more manpower, and all of this, which, of course, does cost extra money.

Whew. It is kind of comforting to know that decades of overused forest fire fighting techniques which have allowed a buildup of fuel is not the real cause the increase in number and severity of forest fires as of late. We can now just blame CO2. Thank goodness.[/sarc]
