Canadian Sheila Watt-Cloutier claims to have "influenced a shift" in the US public climate debate

Inuit activist pushes Harper for action on environment
Watt-Cloutier said she was disappointed that Canadians did not make "the green shift," in the last election - a reference to Liberal leader Stéphane Dion's environmental platform. Still, she said, the petition on climate change she filed with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights three years ago has influenced a shift in the U.S. public debate.
For now, my all-time favorite Sheila Watt-Cloutier quote
Rather than abandoning the life of the hunter-gatherer for more conventional employment, Watt-Cloutier advocates training the Inuit young people to do both.

Why not a career as a hunter gatherer engineer?” she asks. “If you are connected to the cycles of nature then you are connected to your food source.
