Company hoping to cash in on CO2 hysteria praises Britain's CO2 hysteria
On Wednesday, Britain will become the first European country to sell a batch of permits for the second phase of the European system.But did they also blow money on some bogus carbon offsets?
Andreas Arvanitakis, a senior analyst at Point Carbon, a consulting company in Oslo, Norway, praised the British government for sticking by its timetable for the sale.
Mr. Arvanitakis said that other countries had also planned to auction allowances in 2008, but that none of them have yet been able to set up the required legislation and institutions to do so.

The Governor of California has just said that the US is the greatest polluter in the world, which is manifestly untrue on any level. Meanwhile he is acting as if there is some reason to curb CO2 emissions in the midst of a depression. This is madness.
He is also acting as if he is the new Minister of the Environment.
