If we were really concerned about global warming and carbon emissions, instead of bringing in an emissions trading scheme tax that’s going to hit hard West Australian industry, the best thing we can do to reduce the world’s carbon emissions is to mine uranium.” Though Cabinet lifted the Labor government’s ban on uranium mining this month, the Government remains opposed to nuclear power and nuclear waste dumps.
