Tim Ball: Obama top star pupil in James Hansen’s School of Climate Change
...The fact there is no so such thing as a safe level and a reduction will have serious implications for plants, oxygen production and thereby life is what Obama needs to hear. But he won’t because he has promised too much already; he doesn’t understand climate science and Hansen will make him hear when he should be deaf.
Bravo, White House
Last week, the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs sent an e-mail to mayors reminding them that time was running out if they wanted to comment on the proposal the administration issued in July, which laid out how the government might curb greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act. A 2007 Supreme Court decision required the Environmental Protection Agency to issue such a ruling, but the White House made it clear in its e-mail that it does not think that is a good idea.
Environmental Capital - WSJ.com : Harry Reid: No New Coal Plants in Nevada
Environmentalists took heart with the EPA’s decision to block a new coal-fired plant in Utah. So did Senate majority leader Harry Reid.

In a letter Monday to Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons, Sen. Reid says the decision this month by the Environmental Protection Agency’s appeals board to block the Bonanza coal plant in Utah “makes it overwhelmingly clear” that Nevada shouldn’t approve any new coal-fired plants without considering the “extremely high greenhouse gas emissions” of such plants. Sen. Reid is an outspoken opponent of traditional coal plants.
