We must reduce carbon emissions | coloradoan.com | The Coloradoan,
The Big Picture (news stories in photographs) reported Oct. 13 that sunspot activity has been in its lowest phase in almost 50 years and that scientists are uncertain what this harbinger means for Earth. I suspect it will mean either global warming or global cooling.

What a strange coincidence that this corresponds to the worst period of industrial pollution and carbon emissions the world has ever known! Clearly this is not coincidence but cause and effect. President Bush and his policies again threaten not only the Earth, but now our solar system. When will we learn that what we do affects not only us, but even the sun, our source of energy and giver of life?

We must reduce our carbon emissions before it's too late for the sun. Facts are facts and you cannot escape these.

Cole Thompson,

LaPorte
