Barack O'Gore?
John Holdren served as an advisor to then Vice President Al Gore on climate change science, policy, and relevant technologies, as a member of the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology through both Clinton terms. He also was one of the scientists who advised Gore on the slide slow that gradually evolved into his award-winning film “An Inconvenient Truth.” Holdren notes that it was Gore’s “ingenuity, understanding, conviction, organization, communication skill, and relentless determination to make a difference that earned him this prize.
Indianapolis: Pipes burst in freezing conditions; building flooded
Major damage is reported at Martin University in Indianapolis.

The university's William Woodson says pipes in the main campus building could not withstand the cold. He says nearly every pipe in the building has burst.

The university is on holiday break for two weeks, but officials hope to have the building repaired in time for classes to resume on time January 2.

One estimate puts damage in the millions of dollars

The frigid temperatures also can make quite a mess when pipes break. That was exactly the problem at Chef Klaus' restaurant in Frankfort. A sprinkler pipe burst, dumping water all over the place.

Flooding problems forced some people to leave a Tinley Park hotel overnight. Pipes broke, flooding parts of the Hilton Garden Inn. About 25 people had to move to a neighboring hotel.

STEWARTVILLE -- Subzero temperatures wrecked havoc on the Stewartville High School during the weekend.

Stewartville Superintendent David Thompson came in at 5:30 a.m. today to find that an elbow pipe in the sprinkler system had frozen and burst, soaking the library and a couple classrooms.

A powerful winter storm barreled through Snohomish County on Sunday.

Drifts nearly 8 feet deep were reported near Sultan. Lights flickered off in about 1,600 homes. In places, the slick roads proved too much even for four-wheel-drive vehicles.
